  • All participants are required to wear long pants, long-sleeve shirt and appropriate shoes (preferably boots – no open toed shoes or sandals will be allowed)
  • $40.00 Entry Fee
  • Additional participant requirements for each event are listed below

MUTTON BUSTING

This event is a fun crowd favorite. For those of you who have never seen Mutton Busting, it goes like this: Sheep are loaded in the bucking chutes just like the bucking horses and bulls. The “Little Buckaroos” are loaded on their lamb and when they're ready to ride, the chute is opened and away they go. The kids are timed and judged just like their big cowboy counterparts.

Participant Requirements:

  • MUST be 6 years* of age or younger
  • MUST be under 65 pounds
  • All participants are required to furnish and wear a sturdy helmet

CALF RIDING

Like Mutton Busting, Calf Riding is a favorite for our younger rodeo fans who would also like to participate. Calf riding follows the same format as Mutton Busting, but is for older participants and uses calves for “rough stock”.

Participant Requirements:

  • MUST be between 7 & 9 years* old and weigh no more than 85 pounds.
  • Helmets, rope and glove are at the option of the parent/legal guardian but are strongly encouraged. Spurs are optional.

YOUTH STEER RIDING

This event is great for the 9 to 13 year old rodeo fans who would like to participate. Steer riding follows the same format as Mutton Busting & Calf Riding, but is for the older youth participants and uses steers for “rough stock”.

Participant Requirements

  • MUST be between 9 & 13* years old
  • Helmets, rope and glove are at the option of the parent/legal guardian but are strongly encouraged. Spurs are optional.
*as of January 1
